Blog every day in July, #3: Getting uncomfortable

There are so many things that make me uncomfortable, I think it’s be hard to list them all in one post! However, here’s a short list of some of the major things that make me very, very uncomfortable:

1. Meeting new people. #Introvertproblems

2. Speaking in front of people.

3. Heights. Just watching a movie in which a character is up somewhere high will make me start sweating. Seeing Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol in the theater was nerve-wracking.

4. Exercising with other people. ‘Cuz they’re all like, “It’ll be fun!” And I’m like, “But then you’ll see how out of shape I am. And also, I do not like to sweat/be stinky in front of people.”

What makes you uncomfortable? C’mon, fess up in the comments!

Blog every day in July, #2: Guilty Pleasures

Ooh, you know this is going to be a good one! Who doesn’t love the good ol’ “guilty pleasure”? Though to be fair, I’m at a point in my life where I try to not feel so guilty over them. If they make me happy, that’s a good thing, right?

1. Pinterest.

‘Nuff said, right? I can spend hours on there.

2. Eating food I probably shouldn’t.

Like pasta and bread. So much pasta and bread.
3. Reading fashion magazines instead of doing something productive.

I justify this by telling myself that at least I don’t have a subscription to People magazine or something, which is surely even less productive. And besides, I’m doing blog research. Yes, that’s it. Research.

4. Saying “no” to going out so I can be lazy.

I’m not a social butterfly by nature. And while it sometimes makes me feel guilty, one of my great pleasures in life is spending at least one of my days off wearing sweats, binge-watching a good TV show or reading a stack of books, and not talking to anyone. Sometimes I don’t even read–I just sleep. Sometimes it’s okay to be lazy! We all have to recharge our batteries!

5. Really hot showers.

I know these are bad for your skin/hair, but when it’s freezing out sometimes you’ve just got to crank up the heat.

What are some of your favorite guilty pleasures? Tell me in the comments!

Ten on Tuesday: new blog and roller coaster fear

Ten on Tuesday link button

1. What do you guys think of the new blog? It turned out to be pretty easy to migrate and set up. Thank you again Celeste for your help!

2. Does anyone know how to widen a WordPress template? I like this one well enough but I’d like it better if it filled up my computer screen a bit more.

3. Is worrying about armpit softness like, a thing I need to do now? I saw an ad in a magazine and it’s cracking me up/freaking me out.

4. We actually have sunshine and 100% blue skies for the first time in weeks. And we’ll probably spend it all sitting inside. Typical us.

5. I forgot to post this, but I got bright pink Chuck Taylors for my birthday! Thank you mom!

6. As per the usual, I’ll be doing nothing for the Fourth except working. Bleh.

7. I love seeing Mila Kunis on magazine covers–there’s always a great makeup look to copy, it seems! Elle has a great tutorial on how to get her cover look from the July copy of Marie Claire.

8. People I could do with not seeing on covers, like ever: Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and any of the Kardashians.

9. I found the most delicious-looking recipe for sweet potato quinoa burgers here.

10. I feel for Kevin. I would just die if someone dragged me on a roller coaster.

Blog every day in July, #1: Canada Day

I found this fun month-long blog challenge and thought I’d join in! You can too over on Allieology. Today’s topic is “Canada Day”. While I’ve never been to Canada, I have at least one blogger friend that resides up that way (hi Em!) and I would like to travel there someday.

I’m not sure if I’d make a good Canadian or not. I think it’d be a split:

Reasons I’d make a good Canadian

  • They say “sorry” a lot, apparently, and I already overuse that word
  • Hockey
  • At least they drive on the right side of the road
  • Britishisms in the language, which are so fun to use.

Reasons I’d make a bad Canadian

  • Cold!
  • Adjusting to new currency
  • No Targets?! (Or at least, I’ve heard that they’re rare)

Would you be a good Canadian or a bad one?
