February 2016 Birchbox: the best yet

See what I got in my February 2016 Birchbox!

I kind of forgot my February 2016 Birchbox was coming last month. We had a lot going on, in between school, work, spring cleaning, and home remodeling (that unexpectedly took about two weeks to complete—not the promised four days). It was a busy month and so it was a real treat to find this cute little box in the mail one rainy day!

I’ve been decently pleased with Birchbox so far, but this box was easily the best yet. The theme this month was “What’s the occasion?” and these products are definitely perfect for getting you ultra-glam for a date night or just because you want to feel pampered. Read on for pics of what I got and my thoughts on the products!

See what I got in my February 2016 Birchbox!

The Whish Revitalizing Cleansing Oil ($30/3.4 fl. oz.) is Leaping Bunny certified (yay!) and does a great job of removing stubborn makeup and grime without stripping your skin. It’s pricier than what I’d typically spend on a cleansing oil, but it confirms feeling that these oils are the future of facial cleansers (at least for moi). The Sahajan Restorative Eye Cream ($45/15ml) is a generous sample size, about half of a full-size tube (!), and is made up entirely of organic ingredients. The company sounds really cool but I haven’t been able to locate any info on their animal testing policies.

I felt a little more “meh” about the FHI Brands Daily Beauty for Wildlife Healing Argan Oil ($14/2.1 fl. oz.). I’m glad to see another animal-friendly product in my box, but I already have several hair oils and don’t need another one.

The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter ($21/6.9 oz.) was one of my favorite picks from this box. Leaping Bunny-certified and made with Fair Trade shea butter from Ghana, this body butter smells amazing and offers a super dose of hydration. (If you’re not a fan of “hippie scents” you might think it’s too strong, but I loved it.) Finally there’s the full-size, vegan-friendly Arrow Boost Color Enhancing Lip Balm ($14), which adjusts to your pH to provide you with a soft, natural hue. I’d read about this lip balm a while ago and was excited to try it for myself, and I absolutely love it, though I wish it wasn’t so dang pricey! I might have to keep my eyes open for a sale.

So there’s my February 2016 Birchbox! I’m excited to see more deluxe and full-size items in these boxes, and lots of animal-friendly brands, too. If you’re interested in signing up for Birchbox, I’d love it if you’d use my referral link here to sign up! And if you already get Birchbox, I’d love to see your unboxings on your blog or YouTube channel—leave me a link in the comments so I can check them out!
