I can’t believe we’re halfway through May already! I recently got a chance to try out Rocksbox. I tried out this service a loooooong time ago but it’s gotten a lot of updates since then. (More on that later, plus how you can try a month for free!)
If you’re new to Rocksbox, it’s a monthly jewelry subscription rental box. What I like about this service is that it offers limited customization and the ability to refresh your set multiple times a month; plus, your styling fee is applied to any pieces you choose to purchase. I’ve actually gotten a few sets this spring (you might have seen pieces on my Instagram) but I haven’t posted about them on the blog. So without further ado, let’s take a look at the new and improved Rocksbox! (Details after the jump!)
Here’s what I got!
Kendra Scott Elora earrings in Rhodium and Ivory Mother of Pearl (retail $70), Ava Rose Berkeley earrings in gold and copper turquoise (retail $50; RB $42); Wilde Giza necklace in gold (retail $65, RB promo $50).
The Giza necklace was pretty, but I don’t wear a lot of this style of necklace, so I wore it to work and then sent it back.
I absolutely loved the earrings I got in this set. I ended up using my monthly credit (more on that later) for the Ava Rose earrings, since I’d been looking for a similar pair of small turquoise drops for a while. I wear a lot of turquoise and gold in the summer so these earrings will get a lot of wear!
I wore the Kendra Scott earrings several times to work and out on the town and got lots of compliments on them! I didn’t keep them just because I don’t wear hoop earrings a lot and these were fairly heavy for their size, so I didn’t want to spend that much money to keep them.
New to Rocksbox?
Here’s how it works: you start by completing a “style profile” via their site; your stylist then puts together a set that arrives in about a week. (There’s a short window during which you can swap out the pieces if you don’t like what’s been selected.) You can keep your set as long as you like and if you love anything from your box you can purchase it, often at a discounted rate. Not in love? Reuse the shipping bag and the return label inside to send back your set; a new one is put together and shipped out within a few days.
The monthly charge is $21, which is also applied as a spending credit toward any pieces you keep. If you decide to keep the full set, you’ll get an additional $10 off. Pieces seem to range in price from $30 to $100 or more, though the median price for most pieces is about $60.
If you’re a new subscriber, you can get your first month FREE by using my promo code MARTHABFF6 at sign-up!
