Can you believe November is already halfway over? I sure can’t. I’m trying to get ready for the holidays and it seems like time is just speeding away from me!
In the spirit of holiday prep, the theme of the November 2016 Birchbox was supposed to be “extra, just-because details that make all the difference”. Unfortunately, I felt kind of “meh” about this box. Some of the samples were great, but some just fell short for me. Read on for mini reviews of each sample!
I know I’m a little late posting this, but I had to share my October 2016 Birchbox! Birchbox is definitely one of those services that has good and bad months, but this month I felt like they really delivered a great box! All of the samples were cruelty-free (yeah!) and there was only one item that got a “meh” from me. Read on for details on my box!
We had a fairly chilly weekend (at least for June), so to keep me in a summer mood I curled up on the couch with some bright new lipsticks, a pint of my favorite ice cream, and my latest Birchbox! I feel like my June 2016 Birchbox was kind of a mixed bag (box?), especially after a few really good ones in the past few months. There were a couple of products I liked, a couple of “meh” items, and one that just made me scrunch my nose in puzzlement! Read on for full details and mini product reviews.
It’s time to unbox my May 2016 Birchbox! I completely skipped out on unboxing my Birchbox in April but I didn’t forget this month. When I first signed up for this box six months ago I didn’t expect to be wowed, but so far I’ve been very pleased with each month’s box. Almost all of the samples have been veg-friendly (and many are Leaping Bunny certified); there’s a good mix of skincare, hair care, and color cosmetics; and with the luxe skincare items and seasonal makeup items, I feel like I’m getting a good deal for my money versus shopping at Ulta and trying to decide what product will work best for me.
Plus, not only does the box value always massively beat the $10 monthly fee—many of the products are deluze samples of very pricey items I could never afford to try otherwise—that fee is cut in half by the points I earn for rating the items in each box on the Birchbox website. I get $5 worth of points from each box to redeem on the site toward full-size versions of the products I love—the only hard part is picking which ones I want! It all works out to a hell of a deal.
