Inspiration Saturdays: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! I did some quickie nail painting while I was on the computer today. It’s definitely not the most creative but I thought in lieu of something fancy, an Irish flag always works!

And here is the weekend nosh. You see correctly. Those are Rice Krispie treats made with lime marshmallows (weird, but kind of tasty) and liberally dosed with green food coloring.

A pretty low-key celebration on the whole, but for me, it works. How do you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day? Or do you skip it? I have a hubby and friends with Irish roots, so ignoring it altogether is kind of impossible! Besides, you kind of have to love a holiday that requires you to wear green, aka my favorite color!

Thanks! I don’t know that I would make these treats again. The lime is…odd. Also, they turn your tongue green and no amount of brushing will unstain it! Eeek!

I really wanted to get married in Ireland–on a cliff, overlooking the sea, at sunset. Come to find out, not only can you NOT get married there unless you are Irish, weddings must be performed by an ordained minister inside a church. No hippie cliff weddings. I actually read pages and pages of info on it and was so disappointed!!

Love the idea of the green rice krispy treats! Too bad they turned your tongue green. And the nails are really cute!!! I always feel like I should do something special on St. Patty’s day since I’m part Irish, but somehow I never do. Last year I was going to make Veggie Shepard’s Pie, but for some reason I didn’t make it until about a week later. It was actually really good – I should make some again! :)
