There are lots of mind-blowing facts out there, but I’m always amazed when I read the numbers on the amount of undiscovered species of plants and animals in the world. I’ve read studies that estimate just a small fraction of species have been discovered and cataloged, with millions and millions of species yet to be discovered and no real grasp of the total number still out there. And what’s worse, human destruction of natural habitats means that thousands (if not millions) of species of plants, animals, insects and more could die off before we have a chance to make that discovery. It’s mind-blowing and frankly pretty sad.

I absolutely agree! It makes me so sad so see that humans destroy such an important part of our world, of nature. People really need to consider these things.
Thanks for linking up, Martha! <3

I am so ashamed of human beings. We are capable of such amazing progress, of so many beautiful creations… and yet we destroy the natural world with impunity. I remember seeing this poor koala bear sitting in the middle of a clearcut, confused because he couldn’t figure out where his home had gone. I feel like that’s symbolic of everything we do wrong, all over the world, every day. And don’t even get me started on poachers or kill shelters or the plight of the polar bear. So tragic.

Totally agree! It breaks my heart. What did the animals ever do to us?! :(

Aww yes, I totally agree. A lot of what’s happening to the world can be avoided, if people are just a bit more conscious.

That is sad when you think about it. There is good and there is bad on this planet and the good thing is there is more good than evil.
