We’re back with more “questions you should ask yourself”! Please go see my friend Katrin’s answers here. If you missed parts one and two, you can see them here and here.
21. Do you drink too much?
Coffee and tea, yes. Especially now that it’s cold out!

22. What do you have to protect yourself from?
Anxiety. I think one of the pitfalls of being an introvert with an overactive imagination is that I can imagine a hundred worst-case scenarios and terribly morbid happenings without any provocation whatsoever. I try to stay really busy, which helps, but I’ve also learned ways to be more positive, which helps too. Otherwise I’d just get depressed, and that’s no good at all.

23. What couple with whom you are friends would you want to have sex with?
Ew. Sorry to be a square but no. Just no.

24. What are you embarrassed about?
I get embarrassed if I trip over something in front of other people, which is often since I’m kind of clumsy.

25. What can you do better than everybody else?
I can do math in my head pretty fast. I’m also a quick reader. I like to think I’m a good judge of people, also.
26./27. When is the last time you did something good for others? And when did you do good without expecting something in return?
Ummmm, I’m sure there are more recent ones but the last big one I remember was late this summer. I was driving aimlessly around downtown and saw an older homeless lady standing on a corner, so I went to a gas station and bought her some lunch and a big bottle of water and took it back to her. When I was eighteen I went through a period of being perpetually broke (partly bad luck and partly bad choices) and I remember what it was like to be down to coins for lunch for the week or have to walk everywhere because I could afford to put gas in the car. It wasn’t fun and it could be really embarrassing. There were so many times that people I barely knew or didn’t know at all reached out to help me in some way that probably seemed small to them but meant the world to me, so when I see other people who need a little help I do what I can. It’s my way of paying forward all the little kindnesses from so long ago that I can never repay in person to those strangers who were kind to me.

28. Do you want to have kids? If so, how many?
Nope. I’m not what you’d call a “kid person”. I am quite happy just being a cat lady!

29. Are you scared of getting grey hair?
Not really. I figure that if I hate it I can always dye over it. But why be that bothered about it? It’s just hair.

30. Which animal do you resemble?
Half the time I’m a hummingbird, buzzing around and never sitting still. But on my weekends I’m a cat, moving from spot to spot in the house to curl up and be warm and cozy and either nap or read. Though my cats don’t read, obviously. :)

You rock, Martha! <3 Thank you so much for answering the questions too! I always look forward to read your answers! And you are such a sweetheart! I love that you always help others! I am really sorry about the anxiety problems! And I like the combination of a cat and a hummingbird! Enjoy your weekend!

Can’t you just imagine the mayhem if cats could fly around that fast? I know mine would be into the catnip and treat cupboard ASAP.

#23 why is that a question one needs to ask themselves?? #26/27 its such a good feeling to pay it forward and you just never know what can make a difference to people.

#23 LOL That was kind of my thought…

Great post :) Really interesting to read your answers :) I have the same problem with anxiety a lot of the time too and definitely agree it helps to stay busy and think positively :) x
Martha Woods
Thanks :) Definitely, keeping the mind busy leaves no time for useless worrying :)

Looove this! Question posts are so fun, the first one is so true for me as well. Too much coffee and tea!

What’s your favorite kind of tea? Right now I’m hooked on vanilla chai.
Celeste
Haha, I drink way too much tea…seriously..it obscene.
I look forward to going gray, or going white rather, my grandfathers hair is amazing!

Some people look great with grey hair! I don’t think it’s anything to fear:)

I drink too much tea too, especially today after the time change. It started getting dark around 4pm today, and I’m just having the darnest time staying awake. *guzzles some more tea* I like your comparison to a cat hehe. :D

Ugh, I’m the same. It’s so gloomy today, I just want to sleep and sleep!

I’m not a kid person either, lol…but I still ended up with kids and often I feel like I act more like a big sister than a mom. Motherhood was definitely not appealing to me either. I hated being pregnant. I hated how my body turned out after I had them. I hated those long sleepless nights, the diaper changes, the extra expenses, the pain and frustration, etc. In spite of that, I wouldn’t change a thing. Motherhood teaches you a lot of things, deepens your heart and enriches your values. For me it, it made me a better and stronger person. I wouldn’t be half the person I am today if it wasn’t for them.

I hear a lot of women say that. I think nurturing a child opens up a part of your heart that just isn’t quite “there” otherwise. Or something–I don’t know how to put it. :)

No kids for me either. I feel the same way about grey hair.

Glad I’m not alone :)
