You know this is going to be a good one! There are a few movies that I suppose I should be embarrassed to admit I enjoy.
Around the World in 80 Days (2004)
I know this is kind of a lame Disney kiddie flick, but I love Steve Coogan. And it makes me laugh, so that’s worth something, right?

The Lara Croft movies
These aren’t exactly highbrow entertainment, so it’s a little embarrassing to admit how many times I’ve watched them. But how can you not love Lara? She’s gutsy, fearless and always armed with a quick comeback. Girl power, y’all.

G.I. Joe: Retaliation
Go on, laugh. I like really over the top action scenes and this movie delivered. The mountain peak ninja sword fight? Totally never happening in real life, but very cool in a movie.

The Time Traveler’s Wife and The Vow
These are probably the two sappiest movies I’ve ever willingly watched. My goodness. In both movies the characters are deeply in love but are torn apart by horrible tragedies, and the amazing amount of love they still have for each other (and how hard they fight to save their relationships) is amazing. Just, uh, just don’t tell anyone I cried at the end.

So what movies are you embarrassed to admit loving? Fair is fair, I told you mine so ‘fess up in the comments!

I don’t watch romantic movies like The Vow. I can’t handle the boo-hoo, gushy mushy, woe is me romance. I like action and adventure, or horror movies. I make a great movie date for guys.

I usually pick out the action flicks too. This year I was hoping to see 47 Ronin for Valentine’s Day but it just didn’t work out with our schedules. :(

Is it weird that I have not seen any of these movies? :) But I don’t think you need to feel bad. I mean, as long as they entertain you or make you feel good, they can’t be bad! :)
Thanks for linking up, you rule!
Martha Woods
Not at all! There are soooo many movies out there, it would be impossible to have seen all of them. I don’t think I’ve seen most of yours either!
VITA Train for Life
I absolutely LOVE The Time Traveler’s Wife. I will definitely watch it whenever it’s on – as long as no one else is around! Great list.

I have the DVD but save it for when I’m home alone :)

I, too, like, even love around the world in 80 days, I like the comedy parts and jackie chan is always fun to watch. I didn’t see the other movies on the list but I do like action movies and tough girl movies and sometimes overly romantic movies but I will only watch if they have some humor in them.
I don’t think these movies aren’t all the shameful to admit to liking. people have diffferent tastes after all.
strangely, I can’t think of a movie to list here. I know there’s plenty that people think aren’t all that great but for some reason right now, I can’t think of their titles.
I did just watched karate kid with jackie chan, which I think most people don’t like, but I liked it and I’m not afraid to admit that I like movies that caters to kids and that aren’t overly sweet.
hope you have a great day.

Sometimes the movies that are aimed at kids are the best! I’m really a sucker for Pixar films.

I love the Lara Croft movies! And I also cried during both the book and the movie of The Time Traveler’s Wife, lol.
Martha Woods
Yay, I’m not alone!!

I love the Lara Croft movies too! But the one I am most embarrassed about, and I watch it every time it comes on, is Sweet Home Alabama. Can’t help it, it’s like some weird addiction!
Martha Woods
Would you believe I’ve never even seen that one?!

Haha I like Steeve Coogan but I haven’t see that movie. I love The Trip with him. And yes, I join your club on the Lara Croft’s adventures. I don’t even know why I’ve watched it so many times :-)
Martha Woods
The Trip was good too!

I really enjoyed the last two as well. I’m a sap for movies like that.

Sometimes you just need a good chick flick to make the day better!

Around the World in 80 Days is from my childhood, I think I’ll always have a soft spot for that one! The only other one I’ve actually seen is “The Vow.”
Martha Woods
I think it’s awesome how childhood movies stick with us :)

GIJoe- wasn’t that bad though! ☺
Martha Woods
I really liked it! I don’t know why so many people dissed it.

I tried several times to watch Around the World in 80 Days, but just could not get in to it. Any thing with The Rock in it is good :)
Martha Woods
Yes! I really like him.

i’ve never seen these movies more than once, but i did enjoy them! sometimes i can be so high-brow with my movie taste, but then again, sometimes i love a dumb comedy (i’ve seen old school way more than i care to admit) or a sappy movie. eclectic is good!
Martha Woods
Sometimes a dumb comedy is just what you need to fix a bad day :)

Aw! I never saw any of these movies. though I did rent G.I. Joe “for the husband” (in other words, for their juicy selection of men), but we didn’t ever get to actually watch it. Boo. Guess I’ll have to give it another go!
Martha Woods
For sure! There were some good men in that one. :D
