I got these questions from Danielle’s blog Underland to Wonderland, where I came across a post in which she talked about the website Thought Questions and their 365 thought-provoking questions to ask yourself. My friends Katrin, Celeste and Jasmine have also been answering these questions, so be sure to go check out their blogs too!
Day 34: Would you rather have less work or more work you actually enjoy doing?
More! I switched jobs even though I knew I’d be taking on much, much more work because I knew I’d be going into a job I would truly enjoy, as opposed to a job that was fairly easy but kind of boring. I think that when you truly enjoy what you’re doing, the work seems less. Plus, I’m the sort of person who is happiest when she’s busy and can look back on a full day of accomplishments.

I realized over the years that doing more always gives u a sense of accomplishment as long as it does not stress u out.. happy friday xo

Very much! I always feel good when I can check off a long to-do list.

Definitely more of what I love. I don’t enjoy my job now so it’s very draining.
Martha Woods
That sucks :( I hope you get a new one that you’ll enjoy!
Celeste
Yes! Work you love isn’t work :)
Martha Woods
It really isn’t! :)
Katrin
I agree. When you love to do something then it does not feel like work. I love being busy so I could never just do nothing. :)
Martha Woods
Me too! I can’t stand just sitting around…unless it’s with a book, that is! :D

I’d rather be busy than doing nothing. I love and hate my job for various reasons lol but it sure keeps me very busy either way.
Martha Woods
Agreed!

That is a very interesting question! Part of me would say less work so that I could spend more time with my kids, but I also wish my current work was more emotionally fulfilling (I work in family law–it’s pretty draining).
Martha Woods
I imagine family law has to be emotionally draining! I think you’ve got to be a real rockstar to juggle work, blogging and a family like you do. :)
