I got these questions from Danielle’s blog Underland to Wonderland, where I came across a post in which she talked about the website Thought Questions and their 365 thought-provoking questions to ask yourself. My friends Katrin, Celeste and Jasmine have also been answering these questions, so be sure to go check out their blogs too!
Day 68: What is the simplest truth you can express in words? That living in the moment is the surest way to make sure your life is happy. Dwelling on the past can leave you filled with “what-ifs” and regrets, and thinking too much about the future only leaves you anxious and can cause you to miss out on all the amazing things life has to offer to you today.

For me lately, the saying that comparison is the thief of joy seems to relish. I always overdo everything. I have been annoyed that I’m not back to my regular size with a sparkling house and perfectly timed schedule for the family. I have to tell myself to give myself a break now and again.

That’s such a good one! Aw, you have got so much on your plate–you’re going to get there, I know it, but cut yourself a little slack! You deserve it!

That’s a great sentiment. I do try, but sometimes it’s hard not to wonder if you could have done something differently or worry about the future. But it’s definitely words to live by. :)

It’s hard! I have to really be mindful of it on a daily basis.

That’s definitely a wise thing to say. I don’t think too much ahead so that’s not really an issue for me but the past is like a limbo trap for me.

The past can be rough. I guess it’s a balancing act between learning from it and not dwelling on it.
