This week’s Top Ten Tuesday prompt (from That Artsy Reader Girl) is all about wintry/cozy reads…so here are ten of my wintry reads for your perusal. All take place largely in winter or in cold climates (or involve a theme of winter or Christmas in some way). FYI: these are best enjoyed with a mug of hot cocoa, a fluffy blanket, and a pet to cuddle, if possible!
The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey / The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden / The Man From Beijing by Henning Mankell / Abandon by Blake Crouch / A Gift From Bob by James Bowen / The Blue Fox by Sjon / Hold The Dark by William Giraldi / House of Echoes by Brendan Duffy / Voices by Arnaldur Indridason / Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer

Oh yes, a pet to cuddle is essential on a cold winter night. I need to read The Snow Child. I’ve heard so many good things about that one. Great list!

Definitely! And yes, it’s just so very winter-y and lovely, especially if you’re a big fan of magical realism.

Great List!!! I’ve seen the Bear and the Nightingale on quite a few lists this TTT! It sounds AMAZING!! Definitely a series I’m going to hoard all the books for and then binge all at once XD
I haven’t heard of the others on your list, I’m going to have to check them out!! I’m all about these Wintry reads as we run up to Christmas!!
Happy Reading!! <3

Thanks! Yes, I was excited to see it was part of a series…I’ll definitely have to grab the next two volumes from the library once I finish this one!

Voices is maybe my favorite Indridason novel (that’s an author I need to revisit!)
My favorite holiday season books are N0S4R2 by Joe Hill (Christmas horror) and The Hogfather by Terry Pratchett :)
I’m planning a re-read of Hogfather next week to get in the spirit!

Have you read his other series set in the 40s? I need to dig into it! And I will have to try N0S4R2, I read one other Joe Hill novel that mostly hooked me but I haven’t picked up any of his other books.
