    Music Monday: For the Kill

I forgot how much I liked this song until I rewatched Hardcore Henry this weekend. And seriously–this movie is one of my faves. It has everything I want in an action movie–great stunts, music, and plot twists. Ilya Naishuller wears almost every hat you can imagine–he wrote, directed, produced, acted in, and composed music for Henry. He’s also a comic book author and the frontman for Biting Elbows. And he has a new movie that just came out this week, Mr. Nobody–I’m psyched to see it!

Four Nordic crime picks for this cold season

The weather in the PNW continues to be cold and snowy, which is the perfect excuse to curl up in front of the fireplace with a Nordic crime thriller and some hot tea! I talk a lot about the Nordic crime books that I love, but today I wanted to share four Nordic crime suggestions that are not books!

If you like darkly comic thrillers, I recommend In Order Of Disappearance. The 2014 Norwegian film stars Stellan Skarsgard as a snowplow driver who learns his son has been murdered by drug dealers, and begins picking them off one by one. (If it sounds familiar, it’s because Liam Neeson just remade the movie as Cold Pursuit.)

What I read, watched, and listened to: July 2018 (all mystery edition!)

I haven’t done one of these roundups in quite a while, partly because I’ve been having trouble actually finishing any new media I start. I’ve mentioned in other posts that this summer has been crazy busy with changes at work and home (and I plan to post about that soon!) but in short, it hasn’t left a lot of time to read full-length books, or finish a whole TV series, etc. But last month I had a few really great books, TV shows, and even a podcast to recommend, so here they are for your consideration!

    What I read
